College of Early Childhood Educators

If only I can leave NO stars.I've applied to renew my membership on July 18 and it is now September 5th. I have called these guys on August 20th and left a voicemail and I have YET to hear back from them. I called them again on Tuesday September 3rd and left another voicemail.Every time I have called, an automated message says we are unable to speak with you at this time...". This is so disappointing. They need to change their entire system and staff. I've read most the reviews and trust me

This is why ECES are leaving the job field!!!! Low pay and high expectations from a ECE college that does nothing but stress us out!!!!!

I made a complaint regarding my supervisor in 2019. About another employee that worked at daycare that lost 2 children within a month. My supervisor did not contact cas or MI istry of education ( my husband did) and did not file mandatory employer report for either incident and after 2.5 years the cece came back saying there is no misconduct. How? Please explain this. The cece is not doing thier job...at all!

Although I have been an ECE for very long, I’ve had my run ins with the College of ECE customer service department for small things regarding helps with filling out applications etc. Unfortunately many of these times I have been treated with terrible customer service! It is dis heartening to know that as a recent graduate I feel uncomfortable to call these people who are here to help me because I am afraid of staff being rude and unpleasant to me.

I have filled out the form online, and submitted to have permission to be exempt from “CPL” due to personal circumstances, and a funeral, including personal stress and work. I also had questions regarding not being employed, and I received a phone call explaining I had 30 days to complete the form for exemption. With proof of funeral. I am not sure why it has not been received, and how it’s not my fault.I do not understand, why being one can be threatened to be suspended because I didn’t comply ? Comply to what? Continuing professional learning? Working as an educator with very low pay, after years of schooling and yearly payments to the college of educators; Barley making ends meet with the cost of living. This is unethical. Now I am being threatened to loose my title as rece.How about the college of educators advocates for us and forms a unions and ensures we ALL get atleast $25/hour. We are under valued unappreciated and underpaid, we don’t need a college to abuse us too, after paying to be a part of , with no benefit.

The Ministry needs to shut down a lot of these establishments. There should be a national outcry. We need the college to advocate for the staff, and parents need to speak up as well. Educators are with the children most of the time; yet there are faced with poor management, stress in the classroom and the list goes on. It is embarrassing the things that go on in this field of study. There needs to be reform. We are paying our money. Educators know your rights, and know your worth.

I have been licensed with the College of ECE for a year now and I must say I am very unpleased with the services that you guys provide. I have been emailing/calling multiply times regarding the renewal of my application and I still haven't received a response. On top of that, I received an email from you guys regarding renewing my license otherwise it will be suspended? This sounds threating as I have been trying to reach you guys for weeks now regarding this matter. I'm very upset!

I have - zero stars for a College which demands that I pay for membership to a party which I do not feel like I belong to.It serves no purpose to me. I was hired in my job to work with children because I paid my hard earned money to achieve a good education to do this. On My qualifications got me this job.This membership should be for those people who attend that College". I feel conned to pay. Where does the money go and who does it serve? Not me!I have come across non-qualified people undermining me s an ECE and Managers not recognizing my expertise.Again

Every year I've received a letter to renew my membership with the college (which I think is stupid having graduated and paying all that money still doesn't certify you and they don't tell you that when you're studying but whatever...). This past year I didn't receive a letter and of course completely slipped my mind to renew it. Funny enough, they coincidentally remember to send a 'penalty' letter stating if I wish to renew my membership I now have an extra fee on top of the renewal fee. I called and spoke to a gentleman and he told me there's nothing they could do because I should have known my renewal date and them sending letters is courtesy. I also told him I lost my wallet and my membership card was in it, no idea which day it would be as I was relying on the letter as I've done every year. I don't understand how you guys have done it for the last 4 years and failed to do it properly this year and now I have to pay a fee? Glad and excited to say I'm changing career paths in just a couple months! ECE doesn't bring home enough money at all, have a money grabbing college who doesn't care to help you and simply just not a fun or exciting career to have.
